Every four years, the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and Sigma Pi Sigma organizes the Physics Congress meeting (PhysCon).
It is the largest gathering of undergraduate physics students in the US, and PhysCon 2022, held in Washington D.C. on October 6-8, absolutely lived up to our expectations! The Omni Shoreham hotel, was a beautiful location. It had many small areas for students to relax and also had large meeting spaces for all of us to listen to talks together. One main focus of this meeting was talking about mental health. We made sure to discuss imposter syndrome, burnout, and stress.
There was also a large focus on graduate school opportunities. There were many schools there to talk about the specific programs they offer. We also had the opportunity to hear from current graduate students to hear about their experiences.
We hope more Wooster students will attend PhysCon in 2026!
