During the first week of Wooster’s spring break, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the APS Global Physics Summit in Denver, where I presented a poster on my summer research from Cleveland State University’s Soft Matter REU. This was a great experience, and I’m so thankful I was able to attend one last conference as an undergraduate! Some highlights from the conference are shown below:
I was so glad Dr. Lehman and I could attend Squishy Science Sunday at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science! I loved seeing all of the demonstrations, especially this one showing the process of paper marbling!

Poster sessions are so fun! I love seeing the wide range of research done by other physicists. While I love jumping between all the different talks (there are so many cool talks to choose from!), I especially enjoy poster presentations and the chance to have one-on-one conversations with other researchers. Here, I’m presenting my summer research on polymer-grafted gold nanorods!
It was so nice to meet part of the cohort from Wooster’s REU last summer! We even captured a picture of some Bead Pile researchers with two of the REU students, set against a beautiful mountainous background!

The exhibit hall was enormous and full of interesting things to explore, such as exhibitor booths, a career fair, free headshots, and this fun photo op! I took a similar picture at last year’s Summit, so of course I had to recreate it!
